Indoor installation

Applicability:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, scientific organizations, and consumer groups recognize Active Soil Depressurization (ASD) as the most effective method for reducing radon levels in homes and other buildings.Plastic Over Soil Area

Negatice Pressure Under SlabPrinciple of Operation:

To prevent radon gas from entering a building or structure, a negative pressure field is created below it.

Method of Installation:

One or more penetrations are made in the concrete slab and a small pit is created under each penetration.  When there is no slab, a radon retardant vapor barrier is fastened over rock and dirt before creating the penetration(s).  PVC vent pipe is connected to the penetration(s) and is routed unobtrusively (through plumbing chases, closets, or other unexposed areas) to the suction side of the radon mitigation fan.

PVC vent pipe is next connected to the pressure side of the fan and is lead through the roof using a standard roof flange and proper sealants.  The radon gas is emitted safely above the roof.  The PVC pipe will protrude slightly above the roof, and has the same look as a standard plumbing vent pipe.
